Hello! I'm Gopal Rander

Graduate Student at University of California, San Diego

About Me

I am Gopal Rander, pursuing Master's in CSE at University of California San Diego, building up my skill set in Machine Learning and Data Analytics. I worked at Microsoft India as a Software Engineer and then I decided to specialize in Machine Learning and Data Analytics.

When I was learning on Coursera, I was absolutely impressed by Machine Learning techniques and decided to use them in work projects at Microsoft, also presented them at hackathons. I always look for opportunities to enhance my skills by exploring the developments in the field of Machine Learning and their applications.

I like participating in programming challenges and solve the tricky problems. While at undergrad college, I qualified for ACM ICPC Regionals 3 times with best team performance of 17th rank. I also served as problem setter for Bytecode programming challenge [Easy - Medium Hard].

Here are few of my strengths.

Application Development

I have worked on designing and developing Robust, Performant and Resilient applications, mostly working on middle-tier and backend. Proficient in Visual Studio (C#), SQL. I also have beginner level experience in AngularJS.

Team Work and Collaboration

Working with teams across the globe and delivering result, I performed the role of SPoC(Single Person of Contact) in two of my integration projects. I have always been a reliable and trustworthy team member, bring positve energy in the team.

Problem Solving

I like competing in Programming Challenges as it involves critical thinking to comeup with an efficient solutions. Moreover, not only programming, in general I like solving problems which potentially improves someone's experience.

Active and Flexible

I really like to do stretch assignments and try to adjust myself accordingly. I am always involved in activities like hackathons, competitions, social service groups and other events. This helps me to be lively and active!
